1988 - 1990

Beyond started out in 1988 and emerged with a well recieved demo called "Dew It". Before they had even played a show they were already getting notice from of the more popular New York bands such as Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today. They quickly found their place in the hardcore scene playing shows with just about every major act from that era and befriending all of them. Tom and Alan paid for the recording of their LP and it was originally set to be released on Schism Records and then Revelation. Back then Revelation wasn't pounding out records like they are today and the wait proved to be too much. Eventually Beyond decided to go with Combined Effort Records who was ready immediatly to release the record. It wasnt long after that when Vic moved to San Diego to go to college and be with his family, Tom joined Bold and went on tour with Judge and Alan went on tour as a roadie for Supertouch. Unfortunatly the band didn't endure as these other interests became full time. There were a few member changes at the end but it was too little to late, Beyond had ended their chapter in hardcore history. As you know these guys all went on to play in some of the most amazing bands ever including Bold, Quicksand, Inside Out, 1.6 Band, 108 and Shelter.
